Babies First Visit

Your child’s first dental visit is an exciting milestone! Our goal is to make this first experience positive, comfortable, and fun while helping your child build confidence and trust with our team. Starting early helps create healthy habits and sets the foundation for a lifetime of great oral health.

What To Know Before Your First Visit

During your child’s first visit, our focus is on getting to know your child and creating a comfortable relationship with them. We’ll take the time to discuss their medical history, any concerns you may have, previous dental experiences, diet and nutrition, hygiene routine, and habits that may impact their oral health.

After gathering this information, we will complete a comprehensive exam and recommend dental X-rays if needed.

A first visit to the dentist can feel unfamiliar for some children, so our priority is creating a caring and supportive environment where your child feels safe and comfortable. We focus on building trust and providing individualized attention to help ensure a positive dental experience.

At the end of the appointment, we’ll review our findings and create a personalized treatment plan if needed. We will discuss the recommended options and plan the appropriate time needed for your child’s care.

To help your child feel comfortable and ensure we can provide the best possible experience, treatment is not completed on the same day as the first visit. This allows our team the time needed to answer your questions, discuss your child’s needs, and make sure your child feels confident moving forward.

Preparing Your Child For Their First Visit

You can help your child feel more comfortable before their appointment by using positive, encouraging language. Try to avoid words that may create fear or anxiety, such as “needle,” “shot,” or “drill.” Our team uses carefully chosen language to create a positive experience and help your child feel comfortable during their visit and future appointments.
